When should you book your Colorado wedding hair and makeup artists?

Booking your wedding hair and makeup artist is traditionally seen as a “down funnel” task. At the top of your booking funnel you have things like: your venue, photographer, wedding planner, etc. The bottom of your “booking funnel” is typically vendors like your florist, dj, and hair and makeup artists.

What we have seen in the recent years since the pandemic, is that that funnel is getting shaken up a little bit. Couples and brides are starting to realize, “If we are going to spend all of this money on a really great photographer (and the day in general 🫣) we might want to prioritize the people who are going to make us look amazing in those photos..”

Booking timelines in general have also been moved up in the recent years. Venues are booking almost 2 years in advance now. Florists and bakers are getting booked a year or more. And traditionally, booking your hair and makeup artists a few months out from your wedding day was totally normal. But now? We are booking 8-12 months in advance. As of the day this is published we have bookings on our calendars for October of 2025.

If you are reading this on the brink of “engagement season,” it is probably time to start looking into hair and makeup artists! If your wedding date is anytime between the months of May and October of 2025, now is the time to start inquiring with the hair and makeup artists that you love!

There is no penalty for booking your vendors sooner rather than later - there is nothing to lose! However, the consequences of booking your vendors too late in the game are great. What if that hairstylist you have been following for months just let you know her books were full for 2025? What if you have had chosen the artist you loved, but waited to inquire and now you’re up against 5 other couples for your date?

We’re keeping this one short and sweet to hammer home the importance of getting a jump on securing the vendors that you want! We hate having to tell people no…we want to work with you!

If you are getting a jump on your wedding hair and makeup bookings and would like to inquire with us, hit that button below and let’s get to chatting about your big day!
